What to Expect from your Pilates session

  • It’s easy! Everything is provided. You only need to bring yourself!
  • Sessions are usually 1 hour long. The first one will involve a postural analysis and assessment of your needs, so that you can get the best out of the classes.
  • Prior to the session you will be asked to fill out a medical questionnaire that looks at previous conditions, general lifestyle and your particular motivation. This way a relevant programme can be developed in alignment with your requirements.
  • The sessions are gentle and non-aerobic, the balanced focus of breath work and flowing movement designed to invigorate rather than fatigue the body.
  • For Matwork, the exercises are performed in various positions on the floor or in sitting or standing postures.
  • Movements will be selected and emphasized in ways that respond to your particular motivation and personal goals.
  • Often, small Pilates equipment is utilized to assist or provide further challenge to the movements.
  • If you are suffering from an injury, don’t be put off! We can still design a safe and personalized programme to support your recovery and maintenance.
  • Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move in.
